Therapy can be a place to explore the parts of yourself you’ve learned to keep quiet. Whether you’re struggling with anxiety, shame, loneliness, relationship difficulties, or questions about who you are and what you want, Timothy offers a thoughtful, collaborative space to understand yourself more fully and begin building a life that feels more like your own.
I know what it can be like to keep parts of yourself quiet out of fear of burdening others or risking their disapproval. Learning to listen to those parts of myself has been challenging and, at times, painful, but also incredibly rewarding. That experience shaped my desire to help others create space for the parts of themselves they may have learned to hide.
I approach therapy with curiosity, warmth, and close attention to the details of your life. I’ll listen carefully, ask questions, and take seriously the things that matter to you, even the things that may have been dismissed or misunderstood by others.
Together, we’ll pay attention to patterns in your relationships, emotions, and ways of navigating the world, particularly during periods of change in relationships, work, health, or identity. I see the therapeutic relationship itself as an important part of this process: a space where we can better understand how you connect with others, what you protect yourself from, and what you may need in order to feel more fully yourself.
You won’t be expected to make your feelings easier, smaller, or more comfortable for me. We’ll work toward changes that feel meaningful to you, at a pace that respects where you are.
Outside of therapy, I spend a lot of time journaling. Writing gives me raw material to process my own thoughts and emotions and stay connected to myself. I also love taking long walks around Brooklyn with my dog.
