Therapy doesn’t have to feel clinical or intimidating. Mia brings a warm, conversational, and relational style to therapy, creating a space where clients can speak openly while still being challenged to make meaningful changes.

Growing up as a first-generation American, I experienced difficult family dynamics and have lived with chronic pain and invisible illness from a young age. Then, becoming a mother added another layer to how I understood family, identity, expectations, and the parts of ourselves we sometimes put aside to keep everything else going. Those experiences taught me what it feels like to be misunderstood, to carry things other people can’t see, and to navigate expectations that don’t always leave much room for your own needs. They’re a big part of why I became a therapist and why I care so much about helping people understand what has shaped them while figuring out what they want for themselves.

I would describe my style as very conversational, laid-back, and relatable, and I want you to feel like you can actually be yourself with me. I’ll listen, help you connect the dots, teach you skills when they’re useful, and yes, call you out when you need it. Clients have described me as easy to talk to and understanding, and as someone they can genuinely be themselves around without feeling judged or analyzed. Together, we can work on setting boundaries, becoming less reactive, communicating more effectively, and feeling more confident making choices for yourself when life, family, and other people are pulling you in different directions.

I connect especially well with people who may not see themselves as the “therapy type,” including people from families or cultures where therapy wasn’t something you talked about. I also work well with people who are high-functioning on the outside but overwhelmed, stressed, or struggling privately. I’m comfortable talking about relationships, boundaries, family dynamics, work stress, identity, chronic pain, and the things people don’t always feel comfortable saying out loud. I’m not afraid of difficult conversations, and I don’t believe you have to spend years in therapy to make meaningful changes.

Outside of work, I’m naturally curious and always learning, both professionally and personally. I enjoy spending time with my family and staying connected to my community. I’m a person first, and I think that perspective helps me connect with my clients as people rather than diagnoses.
